Breeder

Thank you for visiting my homepage. Me, the owner of this homepage is named Aud Stokman and my kennel is named Little Merlin's kennel. I was born in 1957 in Fredrikstad in the east of Norway. I live at this moment in a place called Finnskogen. I live by myself together with my animals in the middle of the forest. Except my dogs, I have 2 horses, a few sheep, one very sweet goat and some hens. I have grown up with dogs and got my first dog when I was 16 years old. It was my first Briard. Right now i have 20 adult dogs, and for the moment I have 3 briard, 2 doberman females, one miniatüre pinscher and 14 caucasian ovcharka.

Me, Aud Stokman, the owner of Little Merlin's kennel, is member of
KSS, our breed club, that is  a member club of The Norwegian Kennel Club. The Norwegian Kennel Club is a member club of FCI. I am also member of FCI.

Every dog that Little Merlin's kennel use for breeding, has been health checked and are 100% clinical healthy and are excellent in every ways, and has of course typical character. All of the dogs that I use for breeding have also great results from dog show.

I bought my first two Caucasian Ovcharka here in Norway from the first litter that was born here in Norway. They were born in 1996. I trusted
the breeder and bought them without having seen the pups. I was very dissapointed. It was two females. The one of them was very afraid of everything, and the other one was really aggressive, much more than what is normal for a
puppy of that breed.

Because I was so dissapointed with these two pups, I started searching for an excellent Caucasian Ovcharka female, pup or adult, and got an offer from Linda Sjøtun in Sweden to buy Mörkömaan Enkeli. This female was really
something very different from the two pups from the first breeder of Caucasian Ovcharka in Norway. She was excellent in every ways. Mörkömaan Enkeli was I year old when I bought her. She was breed by the very famous breeder in Finland, Sirpa Välimäki with kennel Mörkömaan.

Because I bought these two pups that were born in 1996, I have 11 years of experience with this breed now in 2007. So what an other Norwegian breeder claim on her homepage, that noone
in Norway have more than 10 years of experience with Caucasian Ovcharka, is not correct information. I celebrated my 10 year anniversary in 2006 with Caucasian Ovcharka.

Mörkömaan Enkeli had her first litter when she was about 2 years old. I mated her with a russian male, N, FIN uch, NORD V-98 Shabo iz Svetlogo
Doma. I borrowed this really gorgeous male from a friend of mine in Finland.I have never seen any dogs that is stronger than him. He had extremely
strong head, body and legs, and his temper and character was just perfect. He was one of the very few Caucasian Ovcharkas that passed the Character test specially for Caucasian Ovcharka in Finland. I borrowed him for more than one year, so I knew him very well. He had also wonderfull temper aganst humans, he was so nice..

From this litter I kept one female, Little Merlin's Natasha, for myself. The others in this litter were sold to great homes here in Norway. When Natasha was 2 years old, I mated her with a male that I bought when he was at the same age as Natasha. His name is Int Nord N S DK uch, NORD V
03, SV 02-05, NV 01-03-04-05 Champ-Bull's Goliat. Little Merlin's Natasha got a wonderfull litter and one of the pups moved to Alaska. The others were sold to excellent homes here in Norway.

Next time I mated Natasha, this wonderfull female was born: WW-06, Int, Nord, N, S, DK, PL uch, NORD V 03-06, SV 05 - 06, PV-06, KBHV-06, NV 03-04-05-06, Little Merlin's Grom-Grom. The father is the same as in Natasha's first litter.

Little Merlin's kennel has breed one Caucasian Ovcharka female that is the most titled and most winning female of this breed in the World. Her name is Little Merlin's Grom-Grom. So far she has 17 FCI titles, including the World Winner title in 2006, and she has been 2 x Best in Show, 1x 2nd Best in show, 1 x 3rd Best in show, and she has 20 huge different winnings in the final rings from International and National big FCI dog show with really big competitions. She has these titles:

World Winner 2006, Int uch, Nord uch, Nord V 03, SV-05, KBHV-06, N, S, and DK uch, NV 03-04-05-06, Multi champion, Mulit CACIB Winner, Multi BOB Winner, Nordic Winner 06, SV-06

She was also club winner 3 years after each other and won the perputal trophy for ever. As little pup, she was best puppy in our club show and won
the perpetual trophy for one year. She has as great movements that you have to search for a very long time to find similar movements, and the same about her character. Her charachteraand
temper are just amzing in the positive way.
She is really a dog to be proud of.

In the year 1999 I bought 2 adult females from Belgium with different bloodlines. They are named Goda and Vala. Goda is not alive anymore, but
Vala is still alive and is in great condition. She is by today 10 years old. I have also imported a male from Belorussia, Mavr Medvezhiy Ugol. He was
imported in the year 2003.

When I have a litter, I always have the mother and the pups inside my house. That's because I want them to be used to the daily noises in a
house, like f.ex. vacuumcleaner. And I also want them to be used to my cat and other dogs. And when they are inside my house it is much easier for me to take very good care of them and see if something is wrong, compared to if
had them in a kennel house. If they are only outdoors or in a separate
house, I don't have the same possibility to take as good care of them as I want to.

When the pups are about 5 weeks old I take them out to my sheep and my goat so they'll be used to my sheep and my goat. Their mother is allways together with the pups. I start with only a few minutes, and after a week they are together with my sheep a couple of hours a day. It depends of the weather, because my sheep are outdoors the whole year. This is very important if anyone want to use them as livestock guardian dogs when they grow up.

All my C.O. have the very typical C.O. character. My C.O are working as livestock guardian dogs and they are doing a really great job. I lost a
Doberman half a year before I bought my 2 first C.O. This dobermann was killed by a bear. After I started with C.O., this haven't been any problem
at all. But enkeli did a much better jod as LGD than the two first C.O. that I bought from the first breeder of C.O. in Norway. Luckily she has stopped
breeding C.O. a very long time ago.
I think that it is very important to keep the original C.O. temperament. As grown up they should to be a little distrustfull against strangers when they are on their own property, not like a Labrador that enjoy every stranger.

Most of all I want my pups to come to people who wants to use them for what they are meant to, to protect other animals and people against
dangerous things like bears, wolfs, thieves etc. But, of course, the most important is that the puppy buyers can offer great homes for the pup.

Every dogs/pups that I sell from my kennel here in Norway get the Norwegian FCI Pedigree.

Every dogs/pups that I sell to other countries get the International FCI Export Pedigree.

Some of my dogs, laying around together.
As you can see they all live in perfect harmony!

About my dogs that I use for breeding:

It is very important to me that they have excellent temperament, and I think that the health is very important too, and of course that their look is excellent. It wouldn't help at all with good health or good temperament if they don't look like a C.O.
Here in Norway we have no dangerous diseases like rabies, heartworm or other dangerous diseases. Norway is one of the very few countries that don't have these diseases.

Little Merlin's kennel is the most winning kennel of Caucasian Ovcharka in the Scandinavia and propably in most countries in the world.

Little Merlin's kennel celebrates 12 year anniversary with Caucasian Ovcharka and with active breeding of this breed in 2008.

No other breeder of Caucasian Ovcharka in Norway and Sweden can honestly claim similar information about themselves, and not about their results from dog show either.
